Thanks to Stacja.it, I had the opportunity to become familiar with another tool – Postman – and the whole idea of API testing. The presenter, Piotr Buczek, showed HTTP protocol and API fundamentals in a quite detailed way, which was really good for me as a beginner. The first theoretical part included all three main API protocols, i.e. SOAP, REST and GraphQL, as well as everything needed to successfully start a Postman workspace.
After the introductory part, the workshop proper begun. During the session, I started using Postman and performed first simple tests on exemplary APIs. Now I can create workspaces, collections and individual requests. The training also encompassed creating environments and using variables to choose an environment in a request.
Of course that was only basic 4-hour training, but it gave me strong fundaments to build on.
